Bed Bug Treatment

Bed bug treatment should be based on the extent of the infestation, areas affected and harbourage locations identified.

Treatment can require detailed attention to beds, furniture, cracks, gaps and other locations where bed bugs may remain concealed.

Depending on the individual situation, treatment may involve:

• Targeted treatment of identified harbourage areas

• Treatment around bed frames and furniture where appropriate

• Treatment of cracks and gaps where appropriate

• Appropriate treatment of affected areas

• Monitoring

• Follow-up inspection

• Additional treatment where required

Bed bug infestations can be challenging because insects and eggs may remain concealed in areas that are difficult to access.

For this reason, more than one treatment or visit may be required, particularly where an infestation is established or widespread.
